             abstract = "The main objective of the present work was to evaluate the 
                         multi-temporal land changes and vegetal area covered into the 
                         hydrographic basin in the Corumbata{\'{\i}} River Sao Paulo 
                         estate, considering the scenarios of 1962, 1972, 1988 and 2001. It 
                         was used as space source dada the aerial photographs, vertical, 
                         panchromatic in scale of 1:25000 and 1:40000. Based on 
                         conventional photointerpretation methods, the thematic classes has 
                         been mapped and characterized in an equivalent area of 170 000 
                         hectares. By using a Geographic Information System, it was 
                         structured and implemented a georeferenced and relational 
                         database, allowing the analysis on the occupied area dimension. As 
                         a result, it has been observed that with the sugar-cane culture 
                         expansion and the scour of pasture in the last 40 years 
                         conditioned 13% of reduction on the area covered by the Brazilian 
                         Bushes.",
